2010 sees me taking on one of my biggest challenges. I am making an attempt to kayak across the Channel in May.
I'm in a 17 ft sea kayak which is named Solway Lass 2. The journey could take up to ten hours! I may encounter sea sickness, huge waves, deep vein thrombosis, extreme fatigue, sunstroke, wavelash and hypothermia!!
The Channel is the busiest shipping lane in the world with 500 very big boats and ferries on it!
I'm doing it for the North West Air Ambulance and want to raise £20,000.
It's the most dangerous thing I've done yet, and my three London Marathons look like a doddle compared to this. We will go from Dover to the Coast of France, clamber onto French soil and then get a lift back home in the support boat.
Also kayaking with me is Granada colleague Doug Brown in his kayak, 'Canoe's You Daddy!
